So What is a Make Day?
Now "Normal People" have list of things to do, like: Clean Out Gutters, Fix Siding, Fix Leaky Sink, etc. We're .... well, not normal. Our list goes something like: Need to fix Roomba, fix storm radio, replace bad jack on speakers, make an old bluetooth phone (we'll explain). These are things we've all talked about, we tell ourselves we'll get to it. Enough was enough, behold our Maker Day. Oh also be sure to check out MAKE Magazine, it serves as inpiration.
So it Begins
Old Bluetooth Headset
I've always liked the ability to quickly throw my phone on my shoulder and type while talking to any one of our awesome clients.
WHen I do it with my iphone it either mutes or hangs up (iPhone users can I get a witness?) So I took the handset from an old rotarys tyle phone and mashed it up with the guts of a cheap bluetooth headset. Behold the iBatphone.
Dad's Duluth Trading Radio
My dad for whatever reason loves this radio, he sent it to me over Christmas to have me fix it. See like I said, we had been procrastinating on these projects.
Turns out it was justa corroded ground wire on the battery box. If only all of life's problems were so simple.
Wall-e (Roomba) Repair
I'm a big fan of the Roomba, they clean while you sleep, work or play, and they never ask for a day off.... or do they? Ours had been backing up and then would beep 9 times. Turns out it's a common error, the bumb sensors go bad. I fixed it once somehow by taking it apart and cleaning the sensors. I tried the same method this time, however with different results. He still gets confused so I ordered some new sensors, you can't win them all.
Other Notables
Here you see Isaac one of our developers working away on a few of his projects. I forgot to do proper recon while we work working. But he made some good progress on fixing his PC speakers (loose connection to Sub) as well as an exhuast system for his Coffee Roasting side business (very good stuff). He also managed to repair his fickle bass guitar jack, no more holding it juuuuust right.
